Esko Pajamies Africa Coffee Table in Pine for Asko, 1970s

Esko Pajamies designed the Africa coffee table for Asko as part of the Africa furniture group in the early 1970s. This example is made from pine, with a broad rectangular top, rounded edges and a warm natural finish.

The table shares the robust, carefully articulated character of the wider Africa series. Wide legs and substantial rails form a sturdy architectural frame, while the softened corners keep the generous proportions from feeling overly heavy.

Visible pine grain runs across the tabletop and structure, giving each surface natural variation. Measuring 120 × 75 cm, the table provides a practical centrepiece for a seating area and pairs especially well with the substantial forms of 1970s lounge furniture.

The table is in neat overall vintage condition with light age-related wear and a few small knocks along the edges. No major damage has been noted. Please review all images for details.
