Alvar Aalto Early Edition Side Table in Blue and White for Artek, 1930s

This 1930s side table by Alvar Aalto for Artek is made from birch and features a raised tabletop, an open shelf and a single drawer. Its compact form works well beside a bed, sofa or lounge chair.

The table has been restored and repainted in blue and white, and the drawer is fitted with a replacement knob. Continuous bent-birch supports form the legs and frame, giving the piece a light, architectural profile.

Measurements: Width 66 cm; Depth 25 cm; Height 66 cm. The table provides a practical surface while keeping its materials, proportions and construction clearly expressed.
