Artek K65 Bar Stool in Birch and White Laminate

Alvar Aalto designed the K65 high chair for Artek as a compact counter-height seat. This example combines a natural birch frame with a white laminate seat, creating one of the clearest and most versatile Artek material combinations.

The design translates Aalto’s characteristic bent birch construction into a taller form. A round seat, gently supportive backrest and curved footrest come together in a light, balanced structure without the visual weight of a conventional bar stool.

The sculptural opening in the backrest and softly bent legs give the chair its recognisable Aalto profile. Its proportions suit a kitchen counter, high table or workspace, while the white laminate offers a practical and understated seating surface.

The K65 is in very good vintage condition with only minor signs of age and use. The birch frame and white laminate seat present neatly overall. Please review all images for details.
