Alvar Aalto Chair 66 for Artek in Birch - Pair

Alvar Aalto designed Chair 66 for Artek in 1935. These Finnish-made examples are constructed from birch and combine Aalto’s characteristic bent L-legs with a broad, handle-shaped backrest.

The wide backrest provides support while also making the chair easy to move. A circular seat, form-pressed plywood back and four curved legs create the light, durable construction associated with Aalto’s early furniture for Artek.

The warm birch surfaces give the pair a restrained and versatile appearance suited to dining, desk or occasional use. The chairs are sold together as a pair, and visible differences in wear form part of their individual vintage character.

The chairs are in used vintage condition with surface marks and age-related wear. One chair has a visible repair on the front edge of the seat, shown in the close-up image. Please review all images for details.
