Esko Pajamies Africa Armchair for Asko in Cognac Leather

The Africa armchair was designed by Esko Pajamies for Asko in Finland during the 1970s. It combines a solid oak frame with generous cognac-coloured leather cushions and broad leather support straps.

The exposed timber structure and visible suspension system give the chair the robust, carefully articulated appearance associated with the Africa furniture group. An Asko Export label remains attached to this example.

Removable seat and back cushions sit within the oak frame, supported by the leather straps that remain visible from several angles. Rounded upholstered armrests soften the substantial construction, while the warm leather and oak create a balanced natural palette.

The armchair is in neat vintage condition with minor normal signs of use and no major damage noted. The frame, straps and cushions present well overall. Please review all images for details.
